Give Half

Oh what a tremendous idea behind givehalf.org. Have a look.

Out at dinner last night, I left most of my main course because I couldn’t finish it. There was loads and it happens all the time and I wasn’t the only one in the restaurant. Walking home, having spent a lot of the week on this campaign, I wondered why we couldn’t just order smaller portions, and ask for seconds if we wanted it. I don’t understand the way restaurant kitchens work but I’m pretty sure any business could adjust, and make a saving on food waste, over time, and I think I’d be happy to pay the same for food that I completely finished. And then I came across this site, and their amazing app, and thought how much better an idea that was. Because of course you can always have the other half too, if you’re hungry, and decide not to donate after all, couldn’t you?

More things like this! What do you think? Couldn’t we do with an app like that in the UK? Discuss.
